Sometimes, trying to find the "good" in a situation, as it personally applies to us, is like rummaging through a huge haystack looking for that infamous, smaller-than-tiny needle. The relentless search is accompanied with frustration and doubt, as we wrestle with the distinct possibility that what we're specifically looking for or what we want to see--is just not there. Nevertheless, it is certainly hope that makes us continue the search, right? In that, the figurative binoculars are pulled out and positioned to peer far and wide; high and low. As we look, simulateneously, we're thinking intensely on the person(s) involved. Why? Because we know that the meaningful value of any person is directly aligned with The Father---They, too, are an extension of God's love; His beautiful creation. But, does the situation that they present align with my expectations, desires, values, or my faith? Is this truly something good for me---somewhere; somehow; and in some way? Oftentimes, the answer may be "yes," but the question arises...Is it worth it?
Well, life has proven (mine sure has) that arriving at the right answer requires prayer and godly counsel----lots of it! We definitely need discernment to guide us and God's will to find us. Yet, more questions surface, like: Should I stop looking for the "it" in this wait mode of prayerful patience? I don't want to toss out anything that has the capacity to serve me "good", right? Am I ready for the repercussions of bad timing or yet, another bad decision? (Hello 🤷🏽♀️) Does this ongoing search even align with God's plan and purpose for my life? Wow...
As believers, we are reminded that in each of us, despite our many flaws, there is always "good." So, what do we do? Pray, wait, and shift, only after hearing the voice of God---clearly. We know that He will answer in His timing. We don't need those binoculars to ever search for Him; to ever seek Him--He is always there; always available. Be prepared...When His reveal is presented, we may find that maybe, just maybe, it's time to finally accept that the potential "good" being served up is on a shaky, smeared, sticky, and non-spirit-settling platter. In that case, it's just not the right entree, or not necessarily in this season. Maybe it's time to diet and die to it...to plant elsewhere, to blossom and grow! We spend way too much time looking and waiting for what's just not there. So pause and pray, reflect and reevaluate, then release, restructure, and reset, or simply resume...
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. ~ James 1:17

Such a profound word… when making decisions we definitely need to realize that our choices have consequences which could be bad and/or good! Rely on God when trying to decide what and which way to go!
God has on several occasions snatch me back from the enemy's grips for making wrong decisions. I thank him for those teachable moments and his grace and mercy.
Very good topic and scripture to back it up. I've made a lot of bad choices and reaped the pain. I've to God many times, "If you get me out of this one"! I am so glad that for God's grace and mercy to allow me to go through the pain of "bad choices"!
