Exit Strategy

Listen...We are ALL a product of our experiences. In those experiences, there are countless good ones, right? However, on the flip side, some involve people who hurt you, disappoint you, or strategically use you for their benefit. There is no 'wholesale' exemption for those we love or those who love us--- through words only (just lip therapy), or those who beautifully and consistently show the "fruits" of loving us. In this season especially, you may be sorting through some questionable apparent moral idealisms of people...

Yes, good people bring not-so-good emotional, mental, and spiritual--- experiences, too!

There are lots of questions! Our minds are calculating. We're trying to fairly put together life's x's and o's. In summation, there are a few answers that we know to be true, yet it hurts to accept. With a mixology of resulting emotions, we respond, and oftentimes in ways many don't understand. In this AARP'ish zone, I'm finding that it's okay. Why? Because none of our lenses are identical; no one is living a carbon copy of anyone else's life. My job is to watch and pray, focus, exit the "salty" mindset as soon as possible (it takes a while sometimes), and recollect me! And yes...I'm also finding that yet again, Mama's variations of these words ring very present every day..."You'd better take your eyes off man and put them on God!" 🙌🏾 Folk will test your entire being if we don't take time to---Exit from the mess.

What landed me here? Having lunch in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, my eyes zoomed in on a particular sign. I've seen it so many times, but this time was different. Actually, maybe I should've followed the sign's instructions before I ordered 😩-- the Exit sign! My spirit spoke quickly, What do you need to exit, Lisa? Whew, for me, that's truly loaded. I have to put some knowns into "exit" action for sure. But generally speaking, what's the Exit strategy for many of us? It's past time to determine what is and who is truly important to us--- What matters the most to our emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being? When we know, focus on God, our relationship with Him, and those pointed essential things. Peace arrives or resurfaces when we put it all in perspective.

So, Exit the foolery and focus on Faith leading the way. It goes infinitely farther---infinitely farther than the foolishness! Stay prayed up. Stay vigilant. Know what you value. Know the Who 🙌🏾 and who you value. Stay focused and get back to peace.

Oh, and for me...Bold moves require bodacious prayers and a big trust in God...

Lord, I trust in You to guide me to and through all of the necessary moves and any minor and major exit strategies that need to occur in my life. Guide our hearts, minds, and actions in all things. Amen.

~James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Peace & Blessings,
