Our first giveaway winner is Lisa W. Nominated by her cousin, Holly E., her story is one of courage, perseverance, strength, and faith. Thank God, it is also a story of survival! I am honored to share the nomination story and so proud to award her a gift set of TCV items. Prayerfully, Lisa will be inspired, encouraged, and assured that she is to be celebrated. We are grateful for her life! Congratulations, Lisa! 🙌🏾

And...Let's take a moment to celebrate Holly! A breast cancer survivor, as well, she selflessly showed immense love for her beautiful cousin by taking the time to recognize her fight of faith! The beauty of reciprocity in family love is so evident...

I would like to nominate my cousin, Lisa Watson. Lisa lost her mother to breast cancer when she was 9 years old. Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo treatments, as well as surgical procedures. I nominate her because she fought like a woman and I never heard one complaint. She fought with grace, faith, and courage. And she WON!! When I went through my diagnosis, she was encouraging and supportive, never thinking about what she was going through; just loving and supporting her baby cousin. She is a true testament to surviving this dreadful disease and being a support to others.

~💞 Nomination Story # 2

Our second giveaway winner is JaQuita R. Nominated by her mother, Veronica, her story is also one of courage, perseverance, strength, and faith. This one involves my immediate family, so reading every word brought back so many memories. Although a couple of the story's supporting cast members, Mama and Daddy (her grandparents), have passed on, we are thankful that God is still painting a life story for JaQuita. I am honored to share my sister's nomination story and humbled to award a gift set of TCV items to my niece. Prayerfully, they will land in a space of love, where she will be inspired, encouraged, and reassured that we are grateful for her life! Congratulations, JaQuita! 🙌🏾

"When Bad News Comes To Your House"

It was 12 years ago when my family and I were confronted with bad news. It was on a lovely weekend that we were expecting a visit from my daughter and her family. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we were all anxious to see the children. We all met at my parent's house. As they entered the house, I noticed a somber look upon their faces. I tried to play it off but as time passed, I asked the question, why the somber look? That’s when my son-in-law said, tell them. Next, the most devastating moments of my life, my daughter uttered, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We were all speechless. My father slightly turned away and began to cry silently. This was the first time I had ever seen my Father cry.

Needless to say, my heart was heavy and fear tried to set in but I refused, I trusted God. I embraced my daughter like only a grief-stricken mother would and told her it’s going to be alright, God got your back. Even I, her mother, could not imagine what she was feeling inside as she battled with this bad news. I’m sure she had overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and emptiness all within, but God.

When bad news comes to your house, cry for relief. It's a comforting reminder that in our moments of distress, God is ready to offer his healing and salvation. Psalms 107: 19-20. My daughter is 12 years cancer-free. Cancer can’t take away your Hope.

~ Closing this post, I am grateful that October of each year is dedicated to garnering much-needed attention and awareness of breast cancer. However, it is an everyday awareness that we must have. We must pray for, celebrate, and encourage survivors, and honor the memory of those who lost the fight. Also, families and friends who stand in prayer and support or who may be grieving need our prayers too. Each day, I think of Amy Jo. She taught me so much about many things, but more importantly, she showed me that courage, strength, faith, and gratitude for each moment of life remain present, even when fear tries to creep in. I love her and I thank God for divinely positioning her in my life---and in the life of her beloved goddog, Khloe. 🙏🏽🐾💗 Extending love, hugs, and thanks to Holly and Veronica (Ronnie) for bravely sharing these beautiful stories.
