Some things and select someones aren't presented in our lives to serve any peace at all. Their sole purpose is to issue a DDU (Destination Deliberate Unrest). They show up "dressed" for distraction; dripping in drama; and determined to render destruction. Sadly, they slyly (or slitheringly... hello) show up to insert sluggishness--to slow us down, to separate us from our pursuit of God, and delay or deter our growth in Him. Their main goal is to shift us from our "position of personal peace." Because, in a position of unrest, the stage is set to pause or bring to a hard stop, any form of prosperity---mental, emotional, spiritual, or financial...
So, pay attention to the symmetry that aligns with focus--- to live a life of love, faith, and service (in some way). Don't be sidetracked by the gloss and glamor of a materialistic or 'surface' journey. Don't get 'lost in the sauce' of those not well-intentioned sugary, syrupy words or impressive actions. We have to be better soul managers in protecting our position of peace. We must be willing to trust God and sever the ties that seem to be suffocating our life of purpose and joy. Yes, ties---even the ones with fancy laces and perfect full-circle loops---none are worth it! None of them. Track shoes on for peace, not pieces. Stay on course, not in discourse. It may take a little time to get there, but keep praying for p-e-a-c-e...
