New Year - Hold On To The Anchor

Wow! Our Father has blessed us to see another new year! It is a time of celebration that should never be taken lightly. Although some of us are already thinking of those whose earthly presence has found a different space since last year, we are indeed grateful to be here---on January 1, 2025!

As I reflect on the year behind me, it is imperative to rewind the tape of 2024 to prepare for the year ahead of me. It is an anticipatory and spiritual zone, no doubt. In that reflection, I'm asking myself a few questions. I'm sure I'll need to revisit them periodically during 2025...

  1. Have I grown, as a human being; as a woman of faith?

  2. What do I need to implement ASAP to be more intimate in my relationship with The Father?

  3. What do I need to improve on to be a better me, wife, mother, grandmother, family member, neighbor, and friend?

  4. What needs cleaning out or exited from my life? What am I allowing to hold me hostage?

  5. What/who am I entertaining only to fill a void not filled? Is he/she/it simply a bandaid?

  6. What am I on the 'eve' of---based on how I'm stepping into or walking in my journey?

  7. Am I preparing myself for what I've asked God for; what I've prayed boldly for?

  8. I believe, so why not expect favor?

  9. Why am I choosing to live one more second with/in unrest---when I can’t change a thing? I can pray and trust!

  10. Why haven't I chosen forgiveness over stubbornness?

  11. What does forgiveness look like for me? Is it truly forgiveness or just lip service?

  12. What can I do to help and/or why haven't I helped someone inneed lately?

  13. Have I taken the time to self-evaluate---especially in the situations in which I feel so strongly that I'm the victim?

  14. Am I judging or extending grace to people who choose differently in a variety of ways?

  15. What am I doing to grow the kingdom? Am I using this platform fully to energize, engage, encourage, educate and empower?

  16. How am I responding to what God has already revealed?

In all of the above, what will my legacy be?

What does God think of me, my decisions, and my actions? There are and will be many more questions, as life continues to "life." Some may closely align with potential redundancy, but our wall requires us to address each angle of our life, right? We need to assess every minute thing to ensure that we are doing the work--on ourselves and for others--in order to serve with authenticity and love.  What questions do you have for your New Year journey?

In everything that we face in 2025, we must remember where and Who we're anchored in!! No matter the circumstance, the anchor never moves! We have to be reminded sometimes to find strength for our weary souls in the only thing that anchors us; that gives us steady footing; and replenishes our worn spirits----Our Lord!! So, as we move in faith; as we move in uncertainty; as we move in shaky and unknown territory, let us ask ourselves the pertinent questions that enable us to grow in our faith. Let us give God the ultimate praise for providing us with a divine, immovable anchor---all wrapped up in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit!

May your New Year bring you peace, love, joy, and many more blessings, as you hold on to The Anchor! 🙌🏾 Happy New Year 2025 and thanks for your amazing love and support of The Cherry Vine and me!

Lord, we thank you in advance for everything that the new year brings. For Your word says in Romans 8:28 that: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Amen.

Peace and Blessings,

Lisa C-S
