During a recent phone call with my daughter, a distant delivery of warmth, gratefulness, legacy, love, and peace, was embraced so beautifully---all because of my faith in an amazing God. It was delivered via a story, as my daughter shared that while listening to gospel music, my 2-year-old granddaughter belted out, "God, thank you for everything! Amen." I was wowed! It brought on the biggest smile, yet questions. I asked if a song was being played with those lyrics when she said it. Is it possible that any song that played on that Sunday morning contained those specific words? My daughter responded that she didn't think so. That was an "awwwwww..." moment for me, Kamryn's GaGa. 😚
I thank God that she, a toddler, felt the need to say it; that apparently she felt it, whether she heard it somewhere, somehow before. Also, I remember a time when she was waving her hand and singing with me when she was only four months old. The song was, "More Than Anything" by Anita Wilson. Either she was enjoying knawing on her burp cloth or she was praising the Lord! The pleasantries of both stories are forever etched in my mind, my heart, and my spirit.
So what does all that mean on this Thanksgiving? It's simple...No matter what, who, or how the enemy tries to trip us up, as he/she/it is so skilled at doing so, we must inhale, exhale, and remember to thank God for it all. In the good, the bad, and in the gray crevices in between, God is still present! He is always watching over His children and everything that concerns us. So, take a moment(s) and say aloud, God, thank you for everything! It's an all-inclusive and absolute thanks! 🙌🏾
Yes...God, thank You for everything! Lord, I thank You for it all---today and every day. I embrace the place where you have me; I embrace the purpose that you have provided for me; I embrace the unconditional love that you give me---each moment of every day. Everything! Amen.
