In a recent State of the Union speech, President Barack Obama referenced the words, “peddling fiction.” For some reason those words sunk deep into my spirit, as they spoke volumes to the rhetoric that is put so toxically in the atmosphere about people, their situations, relationships, intentions, decisions, etc. Most often, it is commonly pure and simple unfounded speculation and worst of all, unfair judgement. We need to be careful in how we judge! We never know the full or “back” story unless we’ve gotten all of the details, not some of them! In many situations, there are at least two beings that have the full truth…that person and of course, God! Anything and everything else should be suspect until you have all the information.
The bible speaks wonderfully about judgement in Matthew 7:1, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” Let’s be mindful and forever cognizant of judgement, as we never know when someone is judging us in the same manner, and yes, “never” is meant to be an absolute! As we are fleshly creatures, and are all a “work in progress”, if we silently judge, don’t verbalize your thoughts, as you certainly could be “peddling fiction….”
Peace & Blessings,
